DiscussionProgeria is a rare genetic disorder phenotypically characterised by feature of premature aging first described by Hutchinson in 1886 [6]. The term progeria was coined by Gilford in 1904 and is derived from the greek word "gerios" meaning old. DeBusk in 1972 renamed this condition as "Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome" [2].
